Our process begins on our organic farm nestled in the Pacific NW, where we raise Romney sheep and cultivate a variety of natural dye plants. From shearing the sheep to harvesting and foraging for botanical dyes, we carefully source our materials to ensure sustainability and quality.

The journey continues in our small studio, where we hand-spin the wool into yarn or block-print designs onto high-quality canvas. Handwoven on traditional looms, hand-dyed and sewn with precision, each bag and accessory embodies the essence of slow fashion, crafted with care and intention to create timeless pieces that celebrate the beauty of nature and sustainability.

We believe in quality that lasts a lifetime, which is why we exclusively use top grain, US-sourced vegetable-tanned leather in our handbags. Sourced primarily from the renowned Hermann Oak tannery, this premium leather is not only durable but also environmentally friendly.

Unlike chrome-tanned leather, which relies on harsh chemicals and toxins, vegetable-tanned leather is produced using the natural tannins from plants, making it a more sustainable choice for both the environment and your health.

As you use your bag, veg-tan leather will “break-in,” soften, and develop a rich patina over time, enhancing its beauty with each passing year. With its superior durability and timeless appeal, vegetable-tanned leather is the perfect complement to our hand woven textiles to create timeless pieces you can enjoy for years to come.

In an effort to combat the throw away culture of fast fashion- If after 30 days you have an issue with your bag or accessory we will either repair the item, or of that is impossible we can exchange it for an item of the same or similar value. shipping + Returns

We offer free shipping on orders over $150 within the US. For orders under $150, we charge a flat rate of $10 for shipping.

All orders are processed within 2 to 4 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) after receiving your order confirmation email. You will receive another notification when your order has shipped. During extremely busy times processing time may increase, and we will notify you of any delays immediately via email.

We want you to be 100% Thrilled with your Heddle & Hide order. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we are happy to offer you a full refund within 30 days of shipment.
